This quote shows show that elies imprisonment by telling that he has too change be a different person.

This quote shows that Elie has to be a different person in the night time because watching the revolting thing that had happened in the fire really had changed him emotionally. This relates back to the Never Shall I Forget because in the passage it was talking about the flames just like the quote and how Elie also had stated how messed up his soul was in the quote and in the the Never Shall I Forget he talked about his soul being murdered figuratively.

This quote shows his feeling about the imprisonment because he feels like "a dog" like an animal; someone who doesn't belong. This quote relates to Never I Can Forget passage because he is living a new life. He is being miss treated and he and everyone doesn't think is right. Also he has nothing that he had before and he wants to learn about Judaism but he can't learn in the camp.

Augusto, thank you for including information from the Never Shall I Forget text when you stated the Nazis murdered his God and his soul. He definitely is a different person now. Is there anything else you think shows how he's changing because of this experience?
i think that when Elie says the night has passed he meant that the bad just stopped. But the worst is going to come soon or will be coming after and the good is about to come before the bad. He means the flames are consuming him as in it means that all the bad things are coming but there is worse that is coming. This relates back to the poem by the poem saying that the night or bad is going to be long and the good things will be few or short.
This quote shows that Elie has change his personality because of being in that place. He used to read the Bible and now being in that place made him change.
