Touching Spirit Bear - E Block
Throughout the story, Cole has made many bad decisions leading up to and during his banishment on the island. What do you think is Cole's greatest character flaw; a fault in his personality which has led him to make these decisions? Is he finding a way to overcome this flaw in the chapters we have read so far (through chapter 18)? Justify your answer with evidence from the text. Use proper spelling and grammar, please.

coles biggest flaw is that he beats up people for not much of a big deal.I think hes trying to overcome it for many reasons. one of the reasons is that he sold all of his property to go back to the island.Also because he was obaying commands. Finaly hes tryingo to do anithing to change into a good person.

Cole's greatest flaw is that he doesnt care about anything else but him!His also cocky. His actually changing each chapter!
I think his biggest flaw is having a short temper and getting mad sometinmes just for thinking about his past. I think that Cole is trying very hard to overcome this flaw. He has sold all his materials just to get a second chance at the island. He is also following orders and trying to do do anything to be a better peson
Cole greatest flaws is that he dosent care about anything, also he is very arogant about everything. Fot example when he said " id Kill it" on page 17 (talking about the bear)
In my opiniion, his biggest falw is he does not want anything that defies him, but Beatriz and Karlla made a good point.
another thing is that he thinks nobody can stop him.
I think cole's personality is finally changing. I can also notice that he is actually trying to change and find himself in this island. I think he is also learning how to control his anger and let everything go. <:Tanairy
I think cole greatest flaw is he does not take fault for he action and cole doesent think about what he is doing and how it is going to affect himself later.
I think that Cole's biggest flaw is that he is careless about his actions. For example, he attacked the spirit bear because he is rashional. In chapter 15, i think hes ready to change. It seems like hes starting to take responsibility for his actions.

Cole's character greatest character flaw is how he feels about others like his mama ever since he almost had a near death expeariance... he seems more peaceful and forgives his madre and doesnt hold a grudge any more.

Coles biggest flaw is that he dosent take responsability for his actions, neither he cares about the people who he hurts. However he continues to change and take responsability for himself after his near death experience.
I think that when he was banished to the island the first time, that his greatest character flaw was that he doesn't trust or care about anybody. Cole has really changed a lot being and going into his second banishment, he sold all of his stuff to build a cabin in the island, and has been spending time trying to find himself.

His lawyer thought he was lying about when he saw and touched the spirit bear... even though Cole lied in the past, if she sees that hes changing, why cant she believe him for this first time?

because he seems like he is starting to care. Like when he saw the lil dead birdy it hurt him and made him sad and he kept thinking about that. I think he really is trying to change because a life like that isnt easy at all trust me =] He kind of stop thinking hes all that

Me and Cole have a lot in commen, i sometimes hold my anger in until i find something or someone to let it out on. :P Now i realize that theres no point in doing that. I dont enjoy peoples pain like Cole does though, hes over doing it.

ME and cole have alot in common too because im always holding my anger in and in the end i end up exploding and finishing with a bad end =/ And this whole gettin into trouble thing is kind of like me but im trying to change too becuase thats not the life you want for your self. and i think cole is trying to change because he also sees the same thing as me =]

Cole doesn't trust anyone because of his father. So Shaston, yes his dad should get what he deserves.
Yes Laura, but Cole's Dad's parents(his grandparents) could have also mistreated him, which explains why Cole's dad is the way he is. Monsters are always created by other monsters.
