I think that Charlie feels alone, more so than before the operation. People like Ms. Kinean who used to love working with him have started to not want to hang around with Charlie any more. Even if his IQ goes back down, people will still have that memory of Charlie when he was smart. If the scientists in this story have the ability to make someone have an IQ of 200+, then why can't they do just a little more work and make the lives of people like Charlie better by changing their IQ to 100?

I don't think Charlie was ever happy because when he was less intelligent he wasn't happy, when he had a normal IQ he thought he wasnt learning anything so he wasnt happy, and now hes super smart and he's still not happy. He cant be satisfyed...

I think that Charlie isnt't happy and he really never was. When he had his original I.Q. of 68 he wasn't happy because he didn't like being not smart but now that he is very smart he doesn't like it as much as he thought he would either. Now that he is way past genius he is very isolated and alone because people feel to inferior to him and he feels to superior to everyone. I don't think in this situation he is ever going to win and be satisfied because he will never be treated like a normal person.

I do not think that Charlie is really happy because now that he is really smart he feels isolated from everyone else because they don't understand anything he ever says. Before he had the operation all he wanted was to be smarter but he still was a little happy and now that he is super smart he isn't happy so really he never was necessarily happy. Charlie went from one extreme to another in a short amount of time and never REALLY got to experience being normal, so in my opinion he was deprived of having real friends, having a normal life, and having real happiness.

I think he is a little happier since he can now understand more things. But I do think he is more sad than happy because he doesn't have as many friends, and no one understands him any more. While Charlie was at the Diner and he found out that he use to laugh at himself, I think he bagan to wonder if he shouldn't have had the operation. Maybe he thinks it's better to not know the truth since it can sometimes be terrifying.

I do not think Charlie is happy. In the beginning you might of thought that he seemed happy because he kept thinking positive of them using him or not, but probably he wasn't happy because he wasn't that smart. Now since he is smart, he is becoming more alone. Because of the lonliness,Ii dont think he is happy

Well...Charlie isn't really happy because he can't even have a normal conversation! Charlie doesn't realize how not normal he is! He isn't happy because he doesn't really have friends and now he is haunted by the sad memories of who he used to be.

I don't think that Charlie's happy. I think that he's upset because, yes, he became really intelligent, but he didn't become intelligent socially. Like, he's socially just awkward. He's book-smart, but not people smart, so he has trouble communicating with people because he's just so overly smart. And I think that's what truly makes him upset because no one understands him because there's no one like him. So, really, he kind of has no friends minus Ms. Kinnian and the doctors, who don't even really count as friends.

I think Charlie is sort of happy becuase (like Steph said) he can understand, but he also is... well a little lost. I mean to say he still cant relate to anyone really. He just is this one man who is so smart that no one understands what hes talking about half the time. He has become pompus and not as inspired as he was before. Knowing everything has made him very confident, which is good, but still annoyed with himself and who he has changed into. No job, no firends, not a soul understands how his brain works now.
So no I dont think that Charlie is happy at all.
