During the anger dance, Cole shouts "I forgive you." on page 194. Who does he need to forgive? Why is it important ot learn to forgive? Please use proper spelling, capitalization, etc. No text speak.

cole needs too forgive his dad , because his dad was brought up being beatt & didnt know how else to control himself . he needs to forgive his mom becausee she has tried to prove to cole ever since he went away that she could change & she has , she has quit drinking . cole needs to forgive the spirit bear because , cole tried to attack him first & the bear felt threatened .
Well Cole needs to forgive others( mom,dad,Edwin,Garvey,AND ESPECIALLY PETER) because he has put all the people he loves in so much trouble. He thinks the world revolves around him but later on he realizes it isn't always about him

When Cole shouts "I forgive you" the person that he needs to forgive is himself. He would always hang on to the part of himself that was mad and did bad things, which probably made him even more mad because he doesn't know how to fix it. When he forgives himself he can move on to be a better person. That is who needs to forgive.
I think that Cole needs to forgive everyone that he has hurt in some way that means himself too. I think so becuz he has broken lots of peoples trust and hurt lots of people like Peter
I think that Cole needs to forgive himself for hurting Peter. This is important, because if he doesn't forgive himself for what he's done then he won't be able to help Peter heal.

I think Cole needs to forgive himself, his father, and Peter. He needs to forgive himself for doing what he's done and to not be so angry. Once he has forgiven himself, he needs to forgive his dad and Peter. He needs to forgive his dad for abusing him. Yes, he should still know it is wrong but that he can kind of see why he did that. He needs to forgive Peter for what he did. He needs to know he shouldve forgiven him before instead of beating him.
When Cole shouts i forgive you, he's pretty much forgiving himself. He cant forgive peter and anyone else in the world, if he never leanrs how to forgive himslef.
When Cole shouts"I forgive you," I think he is forgiving Peter and his father.Cole needs to learn to forgive these people because he could regret not having a father.He could also regret not making things right with Peter.It is important to forgive because forgiving someone can help you forgive yourself and get rid of feelings like guilt or regret.
Caroline, I agree with you.Cole has done some bad things in his life.If he ever wants to make things right again, he has to forgive himself and know what he is feeling on the inside.

Brittany i agree with you becuase alot if his anger is from when his dad beating him. Also hes mad because he thinks his mom doesnt care about him. But, not only does he have to forgive his mom and dad, he has to forgive himself before he forgives them.
George, can you explain the idea of how Cole has hurt himself a little more? I like what you're saying, but I'd like to read more of your thoughts about that.
When Cole shouts i forgive you he realizes and learns that is important to forgive beacause he cannot heal if he is still blaming others for what happened.
Wow, this has been a great discussion. I think the forgiveness goes back to what Garvey says about Circle Justice. Circle Justice is for healing. They say that you can't move on until you forgive the person who has wronged you, and many people wronged Cole as he was growing up. I think that's why it took so long for him to be able to do the dance of anger, he had to roll that rock of anger down the hill a few times... I wonder if Peter and his family will ever really forgive Cole?
Cole needs to forgive his Dad for beating him up. It is important to learn to forgive because once you forgive people for what they have done to you, people might start to forgive you for anything you have done to them.

Julia, I think Cole needs to forgive himself more than his dad. Although he needs to forgive him too. He did have a big impact probably on why he acted that way toward people in general. Because that's what he knew.
Cole needs to forgive his dad, himself, and Peter. He needs to forgive His dad because his dad is a big reason why he is angry, he needs to forgive himself because he thinks he's a bad person but he's not he just made bad decisions. He needs to forgive Peter for Telling on him. The 3 people he needs to forgive are the people that makes him most angry and he needs to turn from his anger by forgiving them.

I think that cole learnes to forgive himself and the others. He has to forgive himself for all the anger hes given.
