I really enjoyed this experience meeting Mrs. Finder. Just one person's stories can be so powerful and touching. I can feel the sadness in her voice when she spoke. And the part i really liked was that she told her stories in order so it was so much easier to picture. And I'm looking forward to watching Shindler's List maybe in high school

I also enjoyed having Mrs. Finder come yesterday (4/14). I though she was cute, and her story was very touching. I think she inspired us to really be an upstander. It's one thing to hear from your teacher about the Holocaust and we understood that there were survivors and they went through something so terrible. But to hear from a survivor, that is standing right in front you, makes a bigger impact. It's heartbreaking to see her and think she actually went through something so terrible. It was sad. I agree with Eileen that it was easier to picture and understand her stories when they were in order from beginning to end. I think that it really helped with the impact of the Facing History unit. :)

I actually agree with Eileen and Jordan it was easy to picture because we all already learned about it so we do understand what she is saying even though she went through all of that we do it here to everyday when people talk about you behid your back that is how fights start and sorry to say but that is how hatred grows and that is why so many people dislike each other but one person or many could start it but try colleting feather when they are throw out a window it is hard right but that is how rumors start and that is how war started by one person who dislike a group of people

The Facing History unit toched me because of all the movies we wacthed and also how people had to go through all of that. people just don't know when to stop espically today in our sociaty because people just don't know wrong from right and when they are hurting peoples feeling. ;[

It was strong. Even though we've been reading about the holocaust and seeing the horrified things a human being can do, her story really shook me. Mrs. Finder's story was clear and very easy to picture and since I'm a visual learner, I understood very clearly. Now I know what horrible things 1 person can do to the world. That's why it is important to learn about Facing History. So we know how and when to act if it was to happen again.

I thought it was amazing to hear from an actual Holocaust surrvivor. It really made my whole view of the Holocaust shift to a totally different level. Mrs. Finders story was very moving to me. her visit and the facing history unit impacted me in a way that changed my life, and the feelings i have about different people. learning about all of the extremly difficult events that happened durring the Holocaust has left me wish i was even there to help them. i really enjoyed the time we spent on this whole unit.

i really felt bad about all the things that she went through and i learned a lot from the things that she talked about she was a really great speaker and after all the things that she went through she must have a strong spirit to be able to revisit those memories just to help the youth make better decisions and make this world a better place

I think Mrs.Finder was a very nice lady. I could tell in her voice that she was still scared from her experience from the holocaust. She still hates big dogs to this day because she thought they were going to kill her. She has inspired me to be thankful for the good life I have because life is so precious. The story that most touched me was the story when her friend had been shot right in front of her. It must have been so hard to live through that knowing that somebody had been shot right in front of her. I have so much rerspect for Mrs.Finder.

I really liked having Mrs. Finder come because I thought it was good to hear the stories from a Holocaust survivor. I also agree with Mark because her voice did sound shaky like she was scared. She also still does not like dogs because of her expeiences.

I really enjoyed listening to Mrs. Finder's story because it let us all picture what they Holocaust was actually like by hearing from an actual person who lived through it, instead of just videos and books. I thought it was very depressing and scary about how afraid she still is to this day, which I could tell from how she was shivering and how she is still afraid of big dogs. I believe she inspired us and teached us. She showed us what the whole facing history unit was about.

I agree with Eileen and everyone else seeing someone from the holocaust is very different from any video we watched. It just makes you think what could drive a group of people to go to such extream. And even when defeat was at the door they still tried to get rid of a whole religion, a group of people whose identified crime was being Jewish.
At Mrs.Finder requesat I am going to watch Shindler's list over vacation.

I really enjoyed when Mrs. Finder came in because she gave me a diffrent picture of seeing a real holocaust survier. i think she was really brave because that must have brought back bad memories talking about all that pain she had to go through and losing half her family. This unit impacted me because before i just thought holocaust was some bad event in time but i learned it was actually way worse then i thought.

I really enjoyed having Mrs.Finder coming in and talking to us. The story about the dogs made me sad. I didn't like some of the other stories because it made me sad to hear the sadness in her voice. Facing history made me realize to be an upstander and not a bystander.

I enjoyed her visit to my school. I was really shocked, especially the story when she said that her friend got killed and she didn't notice that she was dead. This made and impact on me because I didn't rea;ize that the Holocaust was that terrible I never imagined that would happen!

I really liked having Mrs. Finder come yesterday. Even after all these years i could still here the pain in her words. The story the Mrs. Finder told that impacted me the most was thee story about her standing next to her friend and within seconds her friend was shot right before her eyes. This seemed like the unimaginable. This story really helped me grasp the 'here today, gone tomorrow' concept of the holocaust and how people didn't know what day could have been there last. The facing history unit positively impacted me because I learned so much from when we started this unit. I learned how quickly things can get bad if problems are not stopped in its tracks.

I thought that Mrs.Finder's visit was emotional, yet inspiring. She was so cute and like Jordan said, she has inspired us to be upstanders. Her visit impacted me because it is really hard to understand what happened during the Holocaust because it was so tragic. The sadness in her voice was so sad when she talked about topics like her friend being shot, or when she had to leave her baby cousin behind when they liquidated the ghetto. The Facing History unit really impacted me too bacause I knew nothing about the Holocaust before we started this unit. I just knew that millions of Jewish people were slautered by people called Nazis. Now I know the whole story behind the Holocaust, and words cannot describe how I was impacted.

I very much enjoyed Mrs.Finder coming in to talk with us. I really appreciate that she took time out of her day to share her experiences during The Holocaust. It made more of an impact on me because she is an actual survivor telling us her personal stories. I agree with Eileen and Jordan. It was deffinetly easy to picture what she was saying because we've spent so much time on watching movies, wathcing clips of survivors telling their stories and reading books to understand what went on. By the end of this unit, we knew what it was like to be in hiding, to be in a concentration camp or just anyone around during The Holocaust. This made it easy to picture and understand what Mrs.Finder was telling us. It's heartbraking to know the kinds of innocent people that were forced to go through this. Mrs. Finder and Facing History made me realize that it is extremely important to be an upstander and not a bystander. It may not seem that big of a deal when a few kids make fun of another, but really, that is where it starts. And if we don't stop it while it's at that point, it may be too late to stop it when it gets worse. I'm really happy that we were taught this unit and it's really important that it is continued being taught.

Rena Finder's visit to our school was a great one, just as her story was. It impacted me a lot in the sense that I got to hear first hand of what happened to someone that actually went through what horrible things the Nazi party did in World War 2. Watching video's and reading books was good too, but it was nothing compared to Mrs. Finder's visit. All of things combined made it difficult to think of what it was like back then, and made me grateful of all the things we have now.
